Overshaking your whipper may result in the contents of your iSi bottle not being dispensed properly, resulting in less yield, as well as giving your whipped cream dollops a ragged appearance. It’s generally best to start off with only 3-4 shakes (depending on how vigorously you shake the bottle), then dispense a small amount of whipped cream to check the consistency. If the dollop is too loose, shake once again and keep checking the discharge until you’ve achieved the desired consistency. Do not shake your whipper again afterward as the effects of overshaking can’t be reversed. Good to know: Creams with higher fat content will need less shaking, while some plantbased cream products will never reach an over-shaken appearance.
